Update on the Fall Fest

I joyfully report that the Fall Fest on Saturday was a spectacular success.  Sarah and her crew put together some awesome games and I received a lot of compliments from the families who participated.

It may be a strange comment to make about a carnival, but it was really quite peaceful and I attribute that to the work of God.  Sarah and her team did a great job with the set up and the cleanup was smoother than a six-dollar pint of vanilla bean ice cream, yet it was the event itself that was really peaceful and fun.  People came in, enjoyed themselves, and it was just relaxing, low-pressure fun.

I was surprised at the number of people who enjoyed the crafts when there were so many games available.  Either way, I’m glad they had fun.

In all, around 60 kids came through.  We had the opportunity to serve our community, we seized an opportunity to be generous with our time and money (thanks for serving and for the candy donations!) and we got to know a few families and do our best, in a short time, to show them that Jesus loves them and their children.

It was really, really wonderful.

Thank you, Lord, for your blessing and your hand with us.  It was fun to serve you and it was fun to serve with you.
